Emboo River’s Electric Safari Vehicles are solar powered, silent, emit no exhaust fumes and will take you on stunning full day game drives through the Maasai Mara. Did you know that your sighting opportunities increase, because guides can now use all their senses while guiding?
Emboo River’s vehicles are old ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicles that have been converted to electric. This way the lifetime of a vehicle is extended … and we can enjoy CO2 neutral safaris.
Accommodation at Emboo River
Emboo River offers you the perfect Safari experience in the midst of nature while you can also enjoy all luxuries.
Emboo River is located in a forest along the river. Emboo River has 6 River Rooms and 2 River Suites which all enjoy this beautiful view. All rooms and suites blend in with nature and offer floor-to-ceiling views over the river. You can see hippos bathing or elephants enjoying a drink.
The rooms and suites have luxurious en suite bathrooms with all appliances, including a rain shower with solar heated water. The rooms can be fully opened on all sides, so you can shower with a view over nature. If you wish you can even sleep with nothing but the mosquito net down and listen to the sounds of the night. It is a magical experience.
Feel at home thanks to the rooms and suites' modern design, which includes furniture made by our own carpenters from natural and sustainably sourced materials.
The difference between the River Rooms and River Suites? The newly created River Suites offer an even more exclusive and luxurious stay, thanks to a unique tent design and beautiful bespoke furniture. The suites are more spacious and have wooden floors or an outdoor bathroom under an ancient fig tree. Guests can enjoy a private breakfast and dinner with a complimentary bottle of bubbly on their terrace.

Dining Experience at Emboo River

Emboo River’s meals are served in our lounge area along the river bend, on the terrace in front of your room or in the midst of the savanna for a bush breakfast or lunch.
Emboo River’s Chefs apply a Farm to Fork concept, by using local and fresh ingredients to make sure that you enjoy delicious meals.
Within the camp, Emboo River has its own hydroponic garden – called ‘shamba’ in Kenya – with bell peppers, squash, rosemary, basil, strawberries and much more. The produce is organic which means that Emboo River’s farmers use natural products as fertilisers and to keep insects away.
Emboo River’s menu includes dishes inspired by local and international cuisines. The menu is based on a ‘flexitarian’ diet, meaning that it is mainly focused on vegetable dishes and limits the number of meat dishes. Limiting the consumption of meat has a big positive impact on the environment, because the production of meat is paired with high use of water, deforestation and the emission of methane gas.
Emboo River’s Chefs have been trained by the Cultiva and Mtofu teams to create exquisite dishes. Do you have special food wishes? Gluten free, lactose intolerant, vegetarian, pescatarian, extra spicy, homemade non dairy milks, spirulina and other superfoods … Just give us a heads up and our Chefs will prepare meals that are finger licking good.
Ready to enjoy a Kenyan tea or coffee? Emboo River’s team was trained by the well-known Springvalley Coffee. Springvalley Coffee provides Emboo River with the best coffee beans. Emboo River’s teas are created by Stir Me Tea. These loose leaf teas are grown in Kenya.
