Governors' Camp is located in the prime wildlife viewing area of the Masai Mara Reserve, situated on the banks of the Mara River surrounded by a lush riverine forest, teeming with birdlife, hippos, and crocodiles. In November 2022, Governors' Camp reduced to only 25 tents increasing its privacy and making the camp more exclusive.
The entire camp is designed with comfort in mind and housed in luxurious canvas tents. Some tents are situated along the riverbank and offer breathtaking views of the Mara River, while others have stunning views of the plains. The spacious tents are filled with natural light and have a classic safari-style design, complete with en-suite bathrooms and private verandahs. The bar tent boasts a deck with views of the Mara River, while the dining tent offers a stunning panorama of the plains.
The camp offers a range of activities to ensure guests have a truly memorable experience. Early morning and late afternoon game drives are conducted in open-topped vehicles, providing exceptional views of the wildlife and scenery. The Masai Mara is known for its abundant wildlife, including the big five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino), as well as a diverse range of other species such as cheetahs, zebras, wildebeest and more.
